NICOLAS CRISPINI

A documentary photographer who specializes in Alpine and other landscapes, Nicolas Crispini also terms himself a purveyor of images. This describes both his activities as a serious collector of historical photos and expert in the history of photography, and his broader efforts as a curator and publisher working with major museums. After previously showing his work in the exhibition caméra(auto)contrôle, for OSMOSCOSMOS he is presenting photographic glass plates that, during varying intervals, were sprinkled with every conceivable kind of dust, including cosmic dust. This is a homage to Élevage de poussière (Raising Dust) by Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray, artists who were to profoundly impact modern art over the following hundred years. *1961, Geneva, lives and works in Geneva.
